Guild Tags and What They Mean Empty Guild Tags and What They Mean

Good tidings to all:

Every so often I will get a question regarding what the Guild ranks (or 'Tags' as they are more known for) mean. So, to help answer any questions and clear any confusion I will describe each tag and how they apply within the guild.

The Admin:

The Admin are the eyes and ears of the Guild, handling the day to day affairs when the GM is away. Whether its the direction of the Guild or Recruitment policies, The Admin advise the GM on the best course of action for the Guild. Traditionally, there are no more than two Admins at any given time

Team Captain:

Team Captain's are Rated Battleground leaders who oversee and direct various teams. Among all the positions in any Guild within WoW, Team Captains (or equivalents) are among the most visible and noteworthy players. It takes a lot of organization and multitasking, a cool, calm, collected demeanor and a clear speaking voice to be a successful RBG Leader. They are responsible for the welfare of the other 9 members (and any applicable alternates) on their team. Because getting 2200 through RBG's is one of the easier ways for a large chunk of the Guild population at the same time to obtain rating, Team Captains are well known not only server-wide, but Battlegroup wide as well. To assemble a successful group of 10 people is quite a feat, but if you feel you have what it takes, make it known! Team Captains don't necessarily mean they are higher than average arena/rbg rated players. Some team captains may only have arena experience to 1600, this means they are captains of a lower MMR team within the guild, and shouldn't nullify the fact that they are still out there leading a team weekly. A common equivalent to a Team Captain would be a General or Field Commander in a military organization. Because of their responsibilities, Team Captains have very little restrictions when it comes to bank and gold access in order to properly outfit their team.

Class Superintendent:

Class Supers as they are known as within the Guild are class and spec Subject Matter Experts. Around WoW, other Guilds may refer to them as Class Leads or equivalent. These players are well versed inside and out with their class, whether it be the ideal spec and gear to use in a given situation, the best gems and enchants to utilize or effective Arena team compositions. Class Supers are the go to guys (or gals) when it comes to any questions or concerns about your class. They are also normally referred any interested applicant of their same class type for evaluation and recommendations.

PvP Rated:

The tag PvP Rated normally identifies a player who is currently engaged in a routine Arena comp, or is an approved member of a Core or Official Guild RBG Team. For example, if you are on an Arena 2's and 3's Team that has been consistent in play, or you are on an RBG Team roster that routinely plays, you are normally considered PvP Rated. The term 'Rated' confers the fact that you are continually engaging with your team for ranking. You will to see the same teams and comps at the higher levels and eventually, teams will start to develop game plans to specifically stop your team. Constant play with competent players revolves around that concept.
So, what does it mean to be consistent? It means that you are battling it out with the same comp and players week in and week out. Team synergy is the best way for rating and success and if you team hop every single loss, you will never truly develop that. Usually, players in the 1800-2000 range have quite a few games played on their teams, regardless of win-loss ratio. You are continually striving to improve you team with great success.
Remember: you represent the Guild, and your game play is an example for others. A top priority of the Guild is becoming one of the more successful PvP Guilds in the Battlegroup; PvP Rated players and their consistent play exemplify that.

PvP Qualified:

These players are comfortable in their playstyle, current gear, spec, and enchanting/gems. These fields of players are ready for high level Arena and RBG play and are looked to when it is time to assign members to rosters or specific Arena teams. Remember: its not a measure of a player's skill, but rather their readiness for competitive play versus fielding points to upgrade your gear and such. Think of it as a serious player versus someone casual. To be assigned this tag is greatly influenced by the player themselves but remember: if you broadcast that you are ready for competition style play, that is what is expected from you when it's game time. PvP Qualified players know the ins and outs of the comps they play / want to play, so they are looked to as role models and examples to players still in Qualification status.

Alt:

Like it refers to, players who are alts of mains within the Guild

PvP Qualification:

Players within this field are recent additions to the Guild. They are still developing their synergy with others and testing out specs and comps to be effective with. Learning their craft, these players are the cornerstone of any successful Guild, but more importantly ours. Every Rank 1 and Grand Marshall started at this position or equivalent. Players have to learn somewhere and this is the place to start. PvP Qualification tags are used for evaluation and ease of identification when it comes to teaming up with No Rating Required RBG's, Team BG's and War Game play, in addition to Arena Comp availability.

Upcoming Tags - Competition:

This tag will be used soon for Competition-Rated Teams and players (normally 2300+ RBG and 2200+ Arena) due to the fact that these groups are consistently going to be facing Professional-level teams from other Realms.
Normally, players with this tag are locked into their teams, meaning they are unable to assist others with a team on their mains if they currently sit on that specific team (i.e. 3x3, 5x5). So, if a player is tagged Competition
due to the status and ranking of their 3x3 or 5x5 Arena team, they are unable to assist another player with their 3x3 or 5x5 team; they need to maintain their current team ranking.

Like everything else, there are exceptions to everything stated above, but these are the guildines currently used. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, let me know. We are still in the Assignment Phase, meaning players are still being assigned their appropriate tags. It may take some time for others until we can get an official standing on where they are at.

Until next time,

~Asada
